Romans 8:16-17

I am convinced that some circumstances are born to show us Godā€™s Grace, Godā€™s favor, and Godā€™s protection in the midst of adversity, disappointment, and tragedy.

Hereā€™s what Iā€™ve learned along my journey and what I know to be true:

1. The ā€œbigger pictureā€ has to be about God and well beyond self. The microscope and the mirrors we use are subjective, and often abused or mistreated. But if we focus on The One who remains the same, we can find hope in Godā€™s constancy.

2. An opportunity is a gift in and of itself. The same can be said of a closed door or a ā€œmissedā€ opportunity. You never know how God will use you in your situation but you can rest assure that itā€™s intended for an expected end.

3. We are human. Perfection cannot be the standard in which we base [our own] righteousness or goodness; weā€™ll always fall short and be in a state of disappointment. What Christ did on the cross has to be enough. Whatā€™s given to us by grace has to be enough. Godā€™s love for us, though we can truly never grasp it, has to be enough. God must be enough.

4. Things donā€™t always go as we plan but we can trust that to God, no matter the cards dealt and played, itā€™s NO surprise. When things seem ā€œout of controlā€ know that thereā€™s one in control that can make everything be at peace within you and around you.

5. Emotions donā€™t outweigh truths. They can be valid, but they definitely shouldnā€™t be a driving force since they often times are created in a matter of seconds without thought of the future or the Father.

6. Donā€™t abandon what has kept you grounded in a world thatā€™s always uprooting, redrawing, and rediscovering. Trends change. Opinions are ALWAYS changing. You will change, and hopefully for the betterment of self and others.

7. Enjoy and appreciate the life you have. Recall moments of triumph and battles of victory. You came out on the winning side, didnā€™t you? No matter how ā€œbadā€ or how ā€œgoodā€ life may be, in serving your purpose, you are exactly where you need to be. Keep smiling!šŸ˜ƒ
