A Little…

Happy #faithfilledfriday 🤍

Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you. A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump. —Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭7‬-‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Verse 9. It’s been with me all week. Another way of saying it, is that something small (seemingly or literally) can work it’s way through, affecting EVERYTHING; all that is “associated,” even if they are not the same, similar, close or familiar. As an athlete, I think of a “little injury”; as a human, I think of “a little white lie”; as a health enthusiast, I think of “a little sugar”; all of these little things can have big consequences if the “little” is not dealt with in the appropriate time, with the necessary mind, and with the right counsel. These things that are written also come to my mind as Paul is preaching: be of a sober mind, guard your heart, put on the full armor of God, seek the Kingdom and all its righteousness first, that the works of the flesh are evident, and there is no law against the fruits of the Spirit. These things and more we must know; not just in memorization but also for preparation. And though every battle is not the same, God, the Key to victory, is unchanging.

We must be careful not to exalt ourselves above measure and mindful of the measuring tool we use to judge others. Our focus should be God’s pleasure and purpose. Is God pleased with us or are we just pleased with ourselves? Is our pursuit that which God has predestined or a plan of our own persuasion? My hope is that we have asked for the wisdom to know the difference.

•Don’t allow leaven to ruin the lump.

•Keep running well.

•Let your mind be persuaded and confident by faith in whom you believe, and not by fear, falsehoods, or the fickle.

As you get closer to victory, the battle may grow more fierce; choose to be strong and courageous; which may mean to be still and know that God is in your situation; or to move forward and dance in the furnace.

No matter what, stay connected to the Vine.

Peace and love,

JCB
