To be SATISFIED with God

Happy #faithfilledfriday 🤍 Phil 4:11-13

To be satisfied in God, with God, in all He is and all He has given to us…what a CHALLENGE it is in the flesh! What Paul spoke about in Philippians 4:11-12 is humbling, but he points to how he was able to succeed in verse 13—through Christ—and Christ left us a Helper, the Spirit. It’s easy to become dissatisfied—especially when we are able to automatically and subconsciously compare outward and sometimes superficial lives and information through media and search engines of others.

In reality, every day is a gift. Whether you wake up on the floor, in a car, outside, or in a bed, God is omnipresent. The differences are not only in the things people may or may not possess, but the attitudes, beliefs, and perspectives held by people in these various situations. Our daily bread and our cross is ours to bear and the fact that God helps us to bear them, speaks highly of His character and care.

When I think of Christ and the cross I realize, unlike the ones we wear on our necklaces, the cross is HEAVY. At times people equate the cross and our relationship with Christ as pain free, worry free and problem free. In actuality, the cross lets us know that though heavy things

(pain/worries/sickness/problems/etc) come, these things can be overcome, lived through, and conquered because Christ rose and conquered, despite having to carry His cross. God’s redemptive plan prevailed and the weapons that formed didn’t prosper.

•

Many people seek God for what He can do, and not for who He is. In that sense, I believe we will always find dissatisfaction in just accepting His salvation and not God wholly. As long as God is a good luck charm, we will always find dissatisfaction. As long as God is only our refuge in times of distress, we will always find dissatisfaction. As long as our praise to God is restricted to favorable outcomes and mountain tops, we will always find dissatisfaction. Until our love for God is based on God’s truth—we will lack understanding—and lack rightful relationship.

Matthew Henry said, "Therefore let us trust God for the remaining part of our pilgrimage". And that we must do. His record is like 1 billion-0 đź’•
