Lord, be with me.

Happy #faithfilledfriday đź’ś
“Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” And Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you!””  â€â€â€”I Samuel‬ ‭17:37‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

I love this verse as it goes beyond what God can do for us and emphasizes a promise of provision when the Lord has you: 1) in a seasonal place, 2) leads you to a place, 3) keeps you in a place, and 4) directs you to leave a place… that may be challenging, seemingly unbearable, where you’re up against great odds, or facing GIANTS. Let THE WORD and who God is bring you peace, even as you navigate through your discomfort. If we keep our focus on God and who he is (think of his characteristics), we will be better prepared when life’s pictures change before us and “deliverance” or “change” or “diagnosis” or “victory” doesn’t look like the “vision” we had.

•

We can still hope in God. We can still believe when we say “God I trust you.” We can still confidently say, God NOTHING can separate me from your love. We can still have peace in our brokenness. We can still dance when we are in dire need. Belonging to God doesn’t exclude us from pain and sorrow; tests and battles; rain or sin.

•

Belonging to God connects us to the ultimate Source of victory, salvation, and a love that loved us first; and in being heirs, we will experience these good and perfect gifts throughout our lifetime; and in being part flesh, we will come to know struggle, weakness, and trials.

•

It’s a reassuring truth to know that God not only reigns and is sovereign, but that He cares for us enough—to lead, walk beside, and go before us on our journey. As the sheep of God’s pasture, we are deeply loved and cared for in the toughest circumstances and challenging realities. Know that through the peaks and valleys of your life’s journey, God is GOOD, even when life isn’t.
