I Need You Now
#faithfilledfriday
Psalm 118:5
Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.
Here I’ve listed several things that have caused me distress in my lifetime:
Delayed/Unanswered prayers
Tragedies & Trauma
Injuries and death
Valleys
When your hopes and dreams aren’t actualized.
Relationships/Friendships (and the end of them)
Sin
Tests
I know that I always need God, through the good and the worst of things; but it’s been in my distress that I’ve depended on God the MOST. And I know that’s because the answer(s) the Lord has given me, has been accompanied by His LOVE, His peace, and His strength; even when they didn’t bring understanding, clarity, or anything I considered “good.”

I’ve heard people say, “God may not come when you want Him, but He’s always on time” and I DISAGREE. God is ALWAYS present (omnipresent), and if in my moment of weakness, of tragedy, of pain and suffering, I needed God, He NEVER LEFT ME. A want and a need are two very different things. If we require something, God will ensure that we have it; if we are purposed to do a thing, God will see it through for the vessel He created. God is not a man that He would lie; And I am very mindful of the different REASONS for distress and that the ANSWERS to alleviate my distress are from God.

What I desire for God to do for and through me may be different from how God has predestined to use me—and in knowing the difference, I learn not to take attacks + attempts to deter me from my expected end and my destiny, personal. Though human, I do feel and respond—so I turn to the One who created me and knows me best, BETTER than I know myself. And I’m set free from expectations, and worries, and weapons that have formed because I know they won’t prosper. The power working in me, is greater, because it’s fueled by The Greatest. Sometimes we have to remind ourselves of God’s track record, not necessarily to achieve a certain goal or attain a crown that fades, but to KNOW that with God, no matter the “outcome” or “situation,” you’re on the WINNING side.
More than a CONQUEROR.
More than an OVERCOMER.
More than a SINNER and your SINS.
Rejoice in your Royalty, your identity is defined by Christ. And you can cry out to Him in your distress, knowing that He is ALWAYS there, willing to give you ALL you need for this life and the one to come. Amen.
