Keep Sowing

Galatians 6:9

Tests and trials will make us weary. That’s the truth, and that’s our humanness. The flesh is weak, but thank God that the spirit is WILLING. I used to question how I could get tired of well-doing, and then: it took my dreams years to unfold (after following plans and programs to a T), it took my career to be in jeopardy (serious injuries, not running as well as I believed my training was showing me— I questioned, I asked God WHY this, WHY now, WHY?), it took the ending of things I thought would last forever (relationships, the depth of friendships, contractual incentives), it took the death of people I love so much—all in the midst of well doing (sowing seeds and showing up before God when it felt like I couldn’t even show up for myself) to show me that life (and the well doing) is BIGGER than me and it is going to take a force GREATER than me to sustain, to live, and to take things day by day.

Wish I could say that I passed every test and I always sowed in the Spirit but that would be the boldest of LIES! Sometimes I chose self, I chose sin, and I went to bed big mad or sad knowing I hadn’t “done anything.” I must stop and say, THANK YOU LORD FOR YOUR GRACE AND MERCY because I did not always receive what my actions rightfully deserved. Anywho, the choice is ours and that is the gift (sometimes burden) of free will. What are you trying to leave behind in the garden of well-doing that bears your name but radiates the light of Christ?!

The best (encouraging) part of these verses is that due season is the harvest from the sowing and when we sow, we must remember God is in control of the increase and the times, even with our planting and watering—God’s purpose will prevail. Be reassured that His plan and thoughts towards us is for peace and not evil, to GIVE an EXPECTED END (Jeremiah 29:11 KJV).

Well-doing in the flesh is temporary at best, but doing through + by the Spirit + for God is NEVER in vain. Well doing is about Christ. Well doing is about Kingdom. Well doing is about Purpose and Calling. And God and His love for us, has given us our Advocate and Helper with access through His Son, in His word, and by PRAYER.

Through prayer I’ve been able to speak to myself and my mountains while also being able to listen and receive reassurance from the One who created me and knows me best. The best part is that due season is the harvest from the sowing and when we sow, we must remember God is in control of the increase and the times, even with our planting and watering—it is God’s purpose that will prevail—reassuring us that His plan and thoughts towards us is for peace and not evil, to GIVE an EXPECTED END.

So be encouraged by knowing God is not partial.

Do not become weary in choosing Christ

Do not become weary in the pursuit of your purpose

Do not become weary in prayer.
