We acknowledge many things in life: Pain, hurt, disapproval, happiness, joy, trials, tribulations, successes, failures, and the list goes on and on...we take them at face value and in depth because we see, experience and feel them.

Why is it then that we battle with acknowledgement of God’s presence, His word and His promises when it comes to our livelihood and circumstances? We say we trust but doubt in our heart. We say we believe but question His hand in our matters. We say “Your will be done” but pull out our own blueprint for him to approve. We call Him Lord but don’t do as He says.

In acknowledging God we AGREE to TRUST when we are blinded by the unbelievable, PRAY when our hearts are shattered, LOVE when hatred would seem justifiable, accept PEACE in our whirlwinds and storms, display PATIENCE in uncertain times, operate in the spirit of SELF-CONTROL when anger tries to overtake our thinking and acting, and we count it all JOY in our various trials. We can always go to God and ask for wisdom and guidance in any matter, but in doing so we should first humble ourselves enough to release “control” and accept that we don’t “know it all”. AND THAT IS PERFECTLY OK.

PRAYER: Lord, You know and You are in control so show me what to do, how to cope, and the way to travel; give me the GRACE and STRENGTH to endure Your plan as I acknowledge Your sovereignty, Your power, and Your faithfulness. Amen.
